2013 Hospital Education Program

Clinical Education for Good Samaritan Hospital employees is approved by the Board of Registered Nursing for Continuing Education Units. All employees are eligible to utilize our educational opportunities. For more information about any of the following, please email us at education@goodsam.org or call the GSH Clinical Education Coordinator at 213-977-2348.

Registration for classes:
Pre-registration for all classes is needed as we do not allow for walk-ins. Registration can be done online or by downloading the Registration Form here (PDF), and submitting it according to the Registration Guidelines (PDF).

Class registration must be received no later than 5 days before the date of the selected class.

Cancellation Policy:
It is the goal of the Education Department of Good Samaritan Hospital to not cancel scheduled education courses; however, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any course due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. Courses will be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance. Registered participants will be notified by phone. Full refund of course fee/ deposit will be issued if class is cancelled by the Education Department.

If participant decides to cancel, the education department must be notified at least 48 hours in advance (excluding weekends) prior to the date of the class. GSH employees will forfeit their deposit if they fail to attend or did not adhere to the 48 hour cancellation policy. Exception to this policy will be made if the staff was called in by management. For non-GSH employees, full refund of course fee less 20% administrative fee will be mailed if cancellation was made within 48 hours of originally scheduled class. No refund will be issued if registration was cancelled less than 48 hours or if “no show.”

Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

  • Course Requirements: Participants must have a current AHA ACLS Provider book prior to and during the class. Employees may borrow book from the education department if class is taken in GSH. For renewal, please include a copy of your current ACLS card with registration. Registrant must present their ACLS card to the instructor at the class.

  • Course Fee:
    $150 refundable deposit for ACLS Provider for GSH employees if class is mandatory;
    $100 refundable deposit for ACLS Renewal for GSH employees if class is mandatory;
    $150 for Provider fee for GSH employees if class is not mandatory;
    $100 for Renewal fee for GSH employees if class is not mandatory.
 

Basic Life Support (BLS)
